Manufacturing Cost Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of cost management principles, technical accounting skills, and the ability to perform cash flow analysis and forecasting.

Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive cash flow analysis to support financial planning and decision-making.

- Prepare and maintain accurate cost management reports to track expenses and profitability.

- Perform balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial statements.

- Utilize technical accounting knowledge to support various financial systems and processes.

- Collect and analyze data related to costs, revenues, and operational efficiency.

- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

- Manage general ledger accounting activities, ensuring timely and accurate entries.

- Research material costs to ensure the accuracy of the information in the company’s accounting system.

- Analyse manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard prices to actual production costs.

- Participate in physical inventory counts to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.

- Monitor the accumulation of all direct labor, overhead and other manufacturing-related expenses.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Proven experience in cost accounting or a similar role is preferred.

- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in cash flow analysis, forecasting, and cost management.

- Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation processes.

- Technical accounting expertise with experience in financial systems is a plus.

- Excellent data collection skills with the ability to analyze complex information effectively.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is required.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
