As our Cost Accountant, you will be joining a dynamic team at a growing manufacturing company as one of the most important positions in our business. This is a critical role that is responsible for maintaining the financial accuracy of our die casting foundry working closely with the Operations team. The position reports directly to the CFO and is immersed in the daily financial operations of the business.
Duties include but are not limited to the following (more information available upon request):
- Calculate manufacturing overhead and labor rates and maintain in ERP.
- Perform product line profitability reports for all customer accounts.
- Coordinate and oversee the month end closing process working directly with the corporate accounting team to include WIP processing, inventory control and analysis, etc.
- Generate monthly reports for CFO including Income Statement, Cost of Goods Sold, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university is required, major in Accounting, Finance, or related degree is preferred.
- Two to five years related experience preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of general accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy is critical.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Skilled in MS Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor with ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Desire to work independently.
The successful candidate will have proven technical accounting skills and strong problem-solving abilities, plus be highly motivated to help the company succeed. Manufacturing exposure a plus but not required. Excellent communication and facilitation skills are critical to success. Must be technologically savvy with extensive experience working with various software programs.
