Moffitt Services is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory/Cost Accountant with experience in managing fuel and lubricant inventories. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory accounting processes, with a focus on fuel, lubricants, and related equipment products.
- Ensure all aspects of fuel, lubricant, and equipment inventory accounting are complete, including receiving, recording, and reconciling deliveries and withdrawals.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records for both fuel, lubricant, and equipment inventories.
- Monitor fuel, lubricant and equipment consumption trends and analyze variances to identify potential issues or opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports on fuel, lubricant and equipment inventory levels, usage, and valuation for management review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and finance to optimize the fuel, lubricant and equipment inventory management processes and controls.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to fuel, lubricant and equipment inventory accounting and reporting.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in fuel, lubricant and equipment inventory management and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with inventory planning, scheduling, forecasting, and control operations.
- Implements inventory tools and systems for tracking, analysis, auditing, and reporting.
- 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, with specific experience in fuel and lubricants.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with fixed assets is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a constantly changing environment is critical.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Travel Requirements
May involve some travel to our sites in Texas – less than 15 days per year.
