Highly skilled accounting professional responsible for overseeing financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and analyzing financial data to provide insights for decision-making. Position will manage accounting operations, prepare financial reports, drive inventory and product costing methods and accuracy. The position will supervise MRP analyst, AP/AR, and purchasing personnel.
This position is responsible for product costing of manufacturing processes both physical and mechanical. This role will also provide support in forecasting, budgeting, and audit procedures. Will need experience in design and implementation of systems as needed to collect data from production floor to update and maintain ERP program. Other duties will include assisting company controller to streamline AP and audit processes. Requires individual with strong interpersonal skills, to work across department lines in facility. Needs strong attention to details, accuracy in reporting, and ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
- With support from the Controller and staff, be responsible for maintaining, and providing feedback on company cost analysis, including input for departmental budgets and forecasts of the company.
- Responsible to report monthly cost analysis and close each month by day 3 of the following month with accuracy and clarity.
- Work with other departments including production, engineering, and quality.
- Work independently, ensure internal controls are maintained and corrected as needed.
- Guides and monitors policies and procedures that affect cost reporting.
- Drives improvements in the accuracy and content of manufacturing cost data collection from the MRP system inclusive of materials, labor, and OH allocation through systemic review and modification of standards, actuals, and variance management
- Develops and implements cost accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes to controller to maintain strong internal controls.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Protects organization’s values by keeping information confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed in a timely manner meeting and exceeding deadlines.
- Review labor reporting, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, returns and inventory levels; investigate and report on variances.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of monthly financial data and trends in order to assist site leadership in their decision-making processes.
- B.S. degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in the cost accounting department of a manufacturing company is required.- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
- SAGE, MAS90 experience or similar accounting software is required.
- Communicates effectively with customers (both internal and external), demonstrating effective use of written, verbal, non-verbal, and active listening skills, employing relevant knowledge, skills, and judgment to achieve organizational goals.
- Strong organizational, data mining, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of product costing and inventory management
- Organized with strong attention to detail and relentless follow-through.
- High level of proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
- Accustomed to multitasking, prioritizing, and meeting multiple tight deadlines in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment.
- Ideal candidate is enthusiastic, not afraid to ask questions, curious about manufacturing process, eager to learn new things. Loves to dig deep to solve a problem.
