About This Job
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our operations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to analyze financial data to support decision-making processes.

8am-5pm
Duties
•
Process accounts payable and weekly check runs
•
Expense account analysis
•
Prepare and review accruals and reserves
•
Assist with month-end closings including reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
•
Assist with annual audit support
•
Create and maintain financial reports, reconciliations, and operational spreadsheets
•
Learn and fully understand inventory activities, bill of materials, direct & indirect labor cost and overhead assessment
•
Perform inventory cycle counts
•
Inventory excess & obsolescence analysis
•
Weekly review of inventory transactions to identify potential errors i.e. negative inventory quantities
•
Collaborate with team members, contribute during departmental meetings, and escalate systems problems and control issues.
•
Work directly with operational teams on special projects and initiatives
•
Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
•
Complete other related department duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
•
Proficiency in general ledger accounting practices.
•
Strong analytical skills.
•
BA/BS Degree in Accounting
•
Strong software skills to include Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)
•
Manufacturing Experience Preferred
•
Ability to work independently
•
Problem solving, team oriented, and ability to multi-task is crucial
•
Ability to pass a drug screen, credit check, and background check
