Position summary:
As Electric Operations Manager, you will provide overall leadership, management, development, and direction for electric utility operations. This leadership position includes the construction and maintenance of electric distribution while monitoring activities to provide safe, reliable, cost effective, and efficient service by partnering and working as a team with a diverse group of local and corporate functional managers. You will also participate and lead community activities to implement an effective labor relations and employee engagement strategy.
Pay Range: $113,650 - $187,700 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)

- Manage employees, equipment, materials and contractors in the safe, efficient operation, construction, and maintenance of the electric distribution system.
- Lead efforts on a safe work environment, monitor safety performance, and continually improve the safety culture.
- Development of labor strategies to include assisting with the creation and deployment of policy changes.
- Engage with employees to ensure compliance with all operating and construction standards by visiting work sites to ensure safe work practices and manage work orders.
- Communicate effectively with a diverse team of employees, peers, and management personnel.
- Coordinate and partner with other work groups to effectively manage and improve processes and systems and resolve local service issues in conjunction with customer service, energy services, community relations, and regulatory and governmental affairs.
- Prepare and monitor annual budget by managing, operating, and providing accurate and timely forecasts.
- Monitor technical training requirements of linemen to ensure compliance, safety and operational goals are met or exceeded.
- Active in community support and involvement.
- Active participation in analysis and support of rate cases and other regulatory matters and providing testimony as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 or more years Utility industry experience or other relevant experience
- Demonstrated leadership and accountability experience.
- Knowledge of electric distribution systems and electric utility rates, rules, regulations, and tariffs.
- Demonstrated experience with union contracts and employee and labor relations issues.
- Experience in managing diverse employees and multiple projects using sound judgement in making decisions.
- Demonstrated technical, financial, and operational expertise.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to use typical work processing, spreadsheet and specialty computer software packages.
