- Support Major Projects: Work alongside engineers and technicians as we implement a brand‑new Electric SCADA system.
- Help Modernize the Network: Assist with the transition from a managed network to a software‑defined network (SDN)—a major step toward smarter, more flexible operations.
- Gain Real‑World Exposure: Learn how advanced electric systems are monitored, controlled, and optimized.
- Collaborate & Document: Work with Electric Operations staff to capture updates, document progress, and support project coordination.

- Currently enrolled in a four-year accredited university/college, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering .
- Completion of at least two years of relevant coursework.
- Junior or Senior Standing preferred.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and computer applications (Excel, Word, etc).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Applicants should be able to commit to the entire internship duration.
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
- College Intern – 1 st year completed $17
- College Intern – 2nd year completed: $18
- College Intern – 3 rd /4 th year completed: $19
- Graduate Student: up to $25 – pay commensurate with experience
