The Manager CCUS Operations oversees day-to-day maintenance, operations, and performance optimization of carbon capture, utilization, and storage systems.
This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operation of CCUS assets while supporting long-term sustainability and decarbonization strategies. The manager collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, EH&S, regulatory, and commercial teams to drive operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
This subject matter expert manages large projects, processes, policies, and standards under limited supervision while coaching and delegating work to junior employees. The role requires demonstrating integrity, accountability, and transparency while upholding BKV standards, values, and culture.
Location:
BKV's Blue Mound field office in Fort Worth, Texas, 76106 and may require up to 10% travel.
- Lead safe and reliable operations of CCUS facilities including capture units, compression, pipeline transport, injection wells, and storage sites
- Oversee commissioning, start-up, and steady-state operations of CCUS systems
- Monitor system performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement best practices
- Manage and develop CCUS operators, technicians, and support personnel
- Ensure proper training, certifications, and field personnel readiness
- Foster a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement
- Ensure operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA Class VI injection well permits and all lease/operating agreements
- Conduct regular safety audits, incident investigations, and implement corrective actions
- Promote environmental stewardship in daily operations
- Coordinate with regulatory teams for required operational records, reporting, and inspections
- Support MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) protocols for federal tax credits (e.g., 45Q)
- Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for CCUS assets
- Work with engineering teams to assess equipment performance and reliability
- Manage contracts and vendors supporting maintenance activities
- Develop and manage operating budgets and volume forecasts for CCUS facilities
- Track costs and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Serve as point of contact for dCarbon Ventures and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners
- Provide all required reporting documents
- Partner with engineering, project development, EH&S, regulatory, and commercial teams on ongoing and future CCUS projects
- Provide operations input during project design, risk assessment, and technology selection phases
- Contribute to operating agreements

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or related field) or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of operations experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial facilities - 3+ years in CCUS or emissions management preferred- Experience managing Class VI injection wells and familiarity with EPA regulations
- Proven leadership in operations and maintenance of complex process systems
