You will be part of Welltec’s Global Operations function working with Well Intervention Services in North America.
As a Maintenance Technician you will have the opportunity to perform preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks on Welltec tools Your work will centre around Welltec’s Intervention Services and Tools and involve testing, troubleshooting, and repairing the tools to ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness during job mobilizations.
You will have strong opportunities to learn and develop in this position. Initially, you will undergo thorough training that will be hands-on and rewarding as you will learn about the energy industry and become familiar with maintaining our world-class technology.
You will be asked to learn a lot but in return you will be given responsibility and support to make a big impact early, develop your skillset and start becoming an important part of our business.
Your key responsibilities will vary depending on your current skill- and experience level. However, some of the tasks you can expect to be responsible for are:
- Complying with Welltec Safety and Quality Policy standards
- Visually inspect and test Welltec’s proprietary equipment
- Detect malfunctions in equipment to diagnose problems and repair
- Disassemble, repair and assemble mechanical and hydraulic equipment
- Perform basic electronic checks and troubleshooting
- Assist with inventory management
- Perform various tasks and other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor, such as shipping and receiving equipment.
- Interface with operations management to ensure workshop priorities are met daily
- Embrace and utilize all Welltec systems (IR’s, Redress System)
- Actively participate in improving and implementing new steps to ensure efficient workflow
- Completing relevant paperwork associated with maintenance on a timely basis
- Undergo Welltec training
- Undertake technical, safety, and shop/office responsibilities as assigned by the Base Manager
- Maintain equipment and facilities in an orderly and workable condition
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with management and peers
You could either be an interested entry-level Maintenance Technician with high potential or a high performing Maintenance Technician with solid experience. Most important is your strong motivation to develop, learn and deliver high quality service.
The ideal candidate has the following profile:
- Associate's degree or equivalent work experience of a minimum of 3 years electromechanical, electronics, mechanical, and/or avionics experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to understand basic mechanic, hydraulic and electronic concepts
- Interpret blueprint diagrams
- Thrives with ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and on time in cooperation with others
- A solid compliance mindset and/or experience working in a compliance-driven work environment
- Awareness of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE)
- Be a highly motivated individual who approaches challenges with a positive ‘can-do-attitude’ and is willing to work under pressure
- Detail oriented
- Leads by example in promoting and maintaining a safe workplace and holding others in the location accountable to this high level
- A competent troubleshooter with good root cause analysis skills
- Good English language skills
- Willingness to work irregular hours
- Must be available to relocate and live in Houston
- Valid driver’s license and clean record
- Prior knowledge of and/or experience with well intervention services is optional
- Authorized to work in USA, without the need for current or future visa sponsorship
- Willingness to travel regionally to support operations
