Overview
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for supporting the execution of daily maintenance work, project work and plant turnarounds (outages) through the leadership of the planning, estimating, and scheduling activities. In addition, this position will utilize the plant's CMMS (EAM) as a primary tool to plan, estimate, resource, and schedule work orders to facilitate the efficient and effective completion of requested work. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
•Ensuring that complete and accurate records are kept of all maintenance activities
•Assist in maintaining storeroom stock levels.
•Assist in establishing and maintaining maintenance related KPI's.
•Participate in safety and environmental initiatives – contributing to overall employee and community safety while ensuring compliance of state and federal regulations.
•Obtain input from team members, contractors, and suppliers to support the development of an on-going baseline schedule, and the weekly updating and publication of this schedule.
•Assist develop detailed repair plans by conducting field inspections, utilizing standard work plans or technical documentation, and/or collaborating with Craftsmen, Operators and Supervisors
•Specify and procure required R&M materials by interacting with Purchasing and Storeroom personnel as well as outside suppliers to properly resource all routine work orders.
•Maintain a backlog of pre-planned work to enable the evaluation schedule alternatives to support production changes.
•Lead the planning, procurement, and coordination for special projects, overhauls and plant turnarounds in order to meet deadlines, manpower requirements, and target costs.
•Work with the Maintenance, Engineering/Technical, and Operations Managers to establish, track, and achieve equipment reliability goals and objectives for the site.
•Assist in developing and establishing maintenance & operational procedures based on regulatory directives, manufactures specifications, and industry best practices to support on-going reliability improvements.
•Participate in the development and conduct of the site's craftsman training program.
•Assist in the enhancement of the plant's PSM Mechanical Integrity compliance and adherence to piping and pressure vessel codes and jurisdictional requirements.
•Assist in maintaining departments' technical publications, manuals and other documents.
•Develop expertise in all areas of the plant's CMMS system including: Equipment, Work Orders, Plans, Predictive/Preventive Tasks, Inventory, and Purchasing.
•Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
•High School Diploma or G.E.D
•Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
•Prefer a minimum of six (6) years' maintenance experience in the Chemical Processing Industry (Gas processing experience is a plus).
•Prefer a minimum of (3) three years' experience in daily maintenance and periodic turnaround (outage) planning.
•Expertise in developing detailed R&M plans for complex rotating machinery, piping and electrical systems is preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements
•Hazard Recognition – Identify potential safety issues and make recommendations for action or resolution.
•Ability to wear and perform work in required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Fall protection harness, full-face respirator, chemical resistant suits, face shield, and any other necessary PPE.
•Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, lift and carry up to 50Ibs, and operate valves.
•Maintain shaven facial appearance.
•Possess reading & comprehension skills.
•Possess advanced math skills.
•Ability to recognize, investigate, and troubleshoot operational issues.
•Ability to effectively communicate with various departments and team members.
•Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Shifts may be changed with minimal notice to meet plant operational requirements.
•Work in a fast-paced team environment and possess keen attention to detail.
•Strong leadership skills to be assist in coaching/mentoring department personnel.
•Self-motivating and accountable individual with strong work ethic.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.
Work Environment
US Nitrogen, LLC operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This position will be exposed to all elements of the weather on the plant site. This is a safety sensitive position which requires employees to disclose the use of any prescription medication that may affect his or her ability to safely perform the essential functions of this position.
