The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler will review and plan work orders for a large-scale thermal power generating facility daily. The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler is responsible for Work Execution Management processes performed with the objective of optimizing total maintenance cost and effort by maximizing maintenance work force productivity, quality and increasing proactive maintenance activities. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills. Time on the shop floor is required to ensure current knowledge of systems and processes.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Reports to: Manager, Planning & Reliability
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
•Operate the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to approve, process, and schedule work orders, preventative maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance tasks.
•Develop and maintain comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules for routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and equipment overhauls. Collaborate with maintenance teams, engineering personnel, and contractors to ensure timely execution of planned activities.
•Prepare and maintain daily maintenance schedules, considering the availability of equipment, staff, and materials. Monitor real-time operational data, adjust schedules as necessary, and communicate any changes or delays to relevant personnel. Perform daily sync meetings with Managers/Supervisors to validate incoming work orders
•Support the Warehouse in critical spares inventory including min/max quantities in CMMS. Track spare parts under repair at outside vendors.
•Identify opportunities to enhance planning and scheduling processes, tools, and methodologies. Stay updated with industry best practices and new technologies to optimize plant efficiency and performance. Actively participate in meetings, training programs, and workshops to contribute to the professional development of the team
•Work toward reducing equipment downtime by improving PM and Work Order practices.
•Coordinate and plan major equipment outages, shutdowns, and turnarounds in collaboration with various stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, and engineering teams. Develop detailed schedules, manage resources, and ensure effective communication to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
•Ensure all planning and scheduling activities adhere to safety regulations, environmental standards, and legal requirements. Collaborate with the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) team to identify potential risks, develop mitigation plans, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
•Evaluates non-emergency work requests, develops scope of work, and inspects job location to determine job requirements.
•Acts on emergency work requests, inspects job location to determine job requirements and organizes repair resources.
•Estimates labor hours, skills, parts, materials, equipment, and tools to complete proactive jobs in a safe and efficient manner
•Verifies the availability of parts prior to scheduling the job.
•Arranges and schedules third-party contractors, special tools and auxiliary equipment when required.
•Maintains a planned and organized ready work order backlog at or above 2 weeks of crew available capacity.
•Conducts weekly scheduling meetings to determine work order priorities, communicate work order status and alter planned maintenance activities if necessary.
•Employs the cycle of continuous improvement process to create/update reusable Job Plans with technician feedback.
•Responsible for maintaining the integrity of equipment data (Bill of Materials) in CMMS.

•Demonstrated ability to be proactive in problem solving and to lead the resolution of equipment problems.
Education, Training, Experience:
•High School Diploma or GED, required
•Associate’s degree with an industrial, technical, or business emphasis from an accredited college or university; or trade qualified with a minimum of (6) years of experience in that trade; or a combination of education and experience.
•Preference given for additional courses or training in planning, scheduling, and/or project management.
•Maintenance experience in a related industry, preferred.
•Experience with maintenance management systems and work scheduling software (i.e. IBM Maximo, SAP, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, etc.), preferred.
Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:
•Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to convert within 30 days for those with an out of state driver’s license that are an Oklahoma resident.
Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions:
•Must be able to walk, climb stairs, crawl, work from ladders and elevated platforms. Must not have a fear of heights, confined spaces, or working around high voltage equipment.
•Ability to lift, move, and carry weights of up to 50 lb. on an irregular basis.
•Must possess mental, visual, and auditory acuity for attention to visual and auditory detail. Manual dexterity is required for operation of test equipment, small tools, and the installation, adjustment, and repair of control devices.
•Work locations range from an office environment to outdoors and/or indoors in a high noise/high temperature environment with possible work in confined spaces.
•After-hours work may be required under emergency conditions.
Other information:
•Work is performed at the Grand River Energy Center in Chouteau, Oklahoma or at the Hydroelectric Facilities in Locust Grove, Salina, and Langley, as assigned.
