Role Summary/Purpose
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring the effective scheduling, coordination, and planning of maintenance activities. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of the facility. The Maintenance Planner will collaborate with maintenance technicians, production teams, and other departments to develop, manage, and optimize the maintenance work plans and schedules.
Essential Responsibilities:
•+ Develop, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work orders, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
+ Review incoming work requests, determine scope, and estimate labor, materials, and equipment required.
+ Assign work orders to the appropriate maintenance personnel based on skillsets and availability.
•Preventive Maintenance Planning:
+ Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
+ Monitor the effectiveness of preventive maintenance programs and adjust schedules as needed.
+ Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all maintenance activities.
+ Ensure availability of spare parts and materials for scheduled maintenance tasks.
+ Monitor and maintain an adequate stock of critical spare parts.
+ Assist in the procurement of materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
•Data Management and Reporting:
+ Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance schedules, and equipment history.
+ Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
+ Prepare reports on maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and downtime.
•Collaboration and Communication:
+ Work closely with production teams to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting production schedules.
+ Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks.
+ Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment on maintenance priorities and schedules.
+ Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
+ Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
+ Support the implementation of maintenance best practices and new technologies.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in maintenance planning or a related role in a manufacturing environment.
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
Technical Skills:
•Strong understanding of maintenance processes, equipment, and manufacturing operations.
•Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). EMaint preferred
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
•Electrical and Mechanical aptitude
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze data to make informed decisions.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment:
•This position may require occasional overtime, weekend work, and on-call availability.
•The role is primarily based in the manufacturing facility but may require occasional travel for training or vendor meetings.
