Job Title: Acid House Operator (LRS)

Position Overview: Acid Pickling is ap process that involves immersing steel in an acidic solution to remove surface oxides, rust and other impurities. This process helps enhance the steel/s surface quality and provides better conditions for subsequent processing and coating.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Read work orders/bill of materials to determine product specifications.

- Responsible for quantity and quality to meet efficiency rates.

- Use and maintain various types of equipment and machinery.

- Reporting/communicating machinery issues to supervisor/maintenance.

- Inspect products to ensure product excellence and quality using measuring tools (tape measure/micrometer/tensile test machine)

- Obtain all required approvals.

- Label packages.

- Use of forklifts, cranes, and hand carts to load/unload machines and to move material to and from machines.

- Record and document production as well as all downtime.

- Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including carrying out daily safety inspections.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

- Inspect material during processing to ensure proper quality is maintained.

- Complete all documentation and turn in work order to supervisor.

- Train new operators.

- Cut samples for quality control.

- Work in a fast-paced environment.

- Work in confined spaces.

- Follow all PPE

- Read SDS’s to familiarized with chemicals used

- Complete all assigned training, including monthly health and safety sessions.

- Know and understand lockout/tagout

- Other duties as assigned.

Department Duties and responsibilities:

- Operate various tanks, LRS equipment moly spray, precoat and bake

- Work in various weather conditions (inside/out)

- Work in a dusty environment

- Pump and remove various solutions from tanks

- Make up new solutions for processing tanks as required

- Monitor baker parameters as required

- Monitor baker temperature

- Ensure product cleanliness (LRS)

Other Duties:

- Work overtime as required.

- Assist production manager and other operators as necessary

- Ability to communicate – verbal and written.

- Ability to perform basic math functions with accuracy.

- Basic computer skills for data entry purposes

- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Constant standing & walking

- Frequent pushing, pulling, & reaching

- Multi-Tasking skills

Preferred qualifications:

- High school graduate or equivalent preferred

- Forklift experience preferred

- 1-2 years in industrial machinery
