Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing direct support to the sales team and executive management by evaluating macro and micro market trends in the energy and coal markets – both domestic and international – and its effects on market opportunities for Core’s coal products. These evaluations will be used to develop Core’s sales and marketing strategy, to make recommendations regarding sales prices, volumes, and contract structures, and to update management, investors, and analysts regarding the outlook of Core’s markets. Additionally, assists with developing and monitoring shipments of coal to meet customers’ quality, cost, and production needs. This position manages combined market analysis, planning, distribution, traffic, and transportation functions. These functions are critical in establishing and preserving the value of our sales portfolio from strategic planning to the day-to-day execution.

•Coordinate with sales, operations, carriers, and customers to identify and resolve existing or potential transportation/distribution problems.
•Manage day-to-day shipments in order to hit target revenues
•Assess and monitor production, inventories, and quality needs necessary to ensure compliance with customer specifications
•Troubleshoot potential problems resulting from coal quality, production, and carrier availability
•Identify and implement new processes, procedures, and tools that allow the logistics team to improve its effectiveness
•Negotiate transportation agreements with logistics provider
Required Skills and Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or similar quantitative field
•Minimum 4 - 6 years of relevant experience
•Working knowledge of energy and coal markets
•Communicates with impact - clearly and consistently gets information across in a timely and effective manner both verbally and in writing; demonstrates the ability to influence people and get them to take appropriate actions ethically; has effective presentation skills
•Relationship builder; earns the confidence of others
•Bridges and sustains solid partnerships based on mutual support through a reciprocal style
•Good planning, project management, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
•Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and other MS applications
•Analyze trends and is responsible for tactical and strategic recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
•Working knowledge of coal mining operations
