The Logistics Analyst will perform diversified duties pertaining to the maintenance of current transportation structures within Gerdau freight systems. The Logistics Analyst is responsible for assisting with negotiating proposals, establishing and verifying shipping procedures. This position will solicit quotes and maintaining rate and freight tracking systems.
This position reports directly to the Logistics Coordinator III. Incumbent coordinates activities with regional area shipping managers, and accounting personnel. This position is responsible for assisting with the negotiation of the company’s lugger and roll off distribution methods. Incumbent will provide logistics information for routine and established accounts to the raw materials group and other departments as required. This position serves as system wide administrator for freight systems by maintaining the freight rate tracking program, calculating various transportation rates, updating system with changes as required, and communicating between Gerdau shipping departments and information services. Additionally, the incumbent will maintain physical carrier files and contracts. The incumbent must also possess the ability to process and disseminate large amounts of information, as well as problem solving skills, ability to multitask and customer service skills.
