Position Summary:
The Shipping Analyst will provide market intelligence and increase the overall analytical capacity in the shipping business unit. This role will cover fundamental modelling, market research and reporting, as well as ad hoc and opportunistic analysis for the Shipping department.
Roles & Responsibilities
•Support strategic projects within the Shipping BU.
•Provide analytical freight analysis to support and assist the Chartering dept, FFA, Ops, and Vetting with any modelling & analysis work as required.
•Contribute to the development and maintenance of fundamental views and Tanker strategy models for deal valuation, portfolio optimisation and risk quantification to forecast volumes/flows/prices and the interaction with other related Marine segments.
•Contribute to the development and maintenance of databases to store privileged knowledge that is leveraged for commercial benefit.
•Distribute analysis and views in a timely, structured and pro-active basis.
•Collaboratively work with the other parts of the London business as well as the global business to increase analytical value.
•Utilise technology to increase the efficiency of the shipping analysis.
•Establish the best operating model for the business by taking into consideration talent, areas of expertise and functional alignment with markets.
Required Qualifications
•4 year degree required and or Shipping Degree and or QBA
•At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
•Team player with a flexible approach.
•Numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail is essential.
•Knowledge of Shipping Fundamentals (Yards, Tankers’ flows)
•Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyse data quickly.

•Diligent and reliable, with superior degree of ethics and integrity
•knowledge of a programming language (e.g. Python, SQL, or similar) is not essential but highly desirable
