What You Will Contribute:
The International Logistics Specialist prepares and manages all aspects of export order fulfilment including in addition to the selection and arrangement of international transportation for Badger Meter products, services and projects in compliance with various corporate and government regulations and requirements (such as Census, EAR, DOT, IATA, IMDG, ICAO and others).
Job Duties:
•Generate export documentation (Packing List, Invoices, Shipper’s Letter of Instruction (SLI), etc).
•Process export orders in Badger Meter software (Customer Orders and Shipping Orders), filing AES/EEI declarations in ACE or declaration of appropriate AES/EEI exemption on export documents.
•Assist internal and external customers with international logistics related questions, demonstrating systems navigation and data mining with tools while managing relationships with cross-functional team members.
•Solicit freight quotes and secure booking arrangements with carriers and freight forwarders
•Process freight invoices for payment.
•Assist in the development of systems, procedures, and work instructions for export shipment processing with a focus on continuous process improvement.
Education and Experience:
•Associate's Degree in Supply Chain or a related field preferred
•3+ years of experience in logistics with a focus on international desired
Qualifications:
•Export/Logistics Certifications (Hazardous Materials/Dangerous goods, 49CFR. IATA. IMDG. CGBP. CES. etc.)
•Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
•Strong organizational skills required
•Basic knowledge of a Transportation Management System (TMS) required
•Intermediate understanding of logistics concepts, planning tools, and software (MRP, WMS, TMS) required
