The role requires travel to site up to 21 days in and up to 20 days off rotation
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a committed explorer and be a part of the next big discovery in BC. Reporting to the Senior Geologists, the Logging Geologistwill be focused primarily on early-stage exploration activities at the Iskut project in BC’s prolific Golden Triangle in northwestern British Columbia.
Our ideal candidate will have a dedicated commitment to workplace health and safety and have a demonstrated ability to maintain the highest standards of quality in all aspects of work. They will also be an individual with practical field experience in a similar exploration role and have a strong working knowledge of porphyry deposits.
· Work with Seabridge Gold’s exploration project team to conduct exploration activities including drill core logging and sampling, collection of structural data from oriented drill core, and maintaining and monitoring core processing workflows and procedures.
· Contribute to geological interpretation of the project areas including data integration, 2D and and 3D modelling and prepare recommendations for subsequent exploration.
· Ensuring integrity of drill core recovery, orientation lines, and downhole surveys, and communicating deviations from Seabridge standard to the senior geologist and/or drill foreman.
· Drill site management as required including sighting drill pads, line-ups, monitoring daily production, ensuring the integrity of downhole surveys, and pre- and post drilling inspections.
· Contribute to technical reports, interpretations, and presentations based on real-time exploration program results and highlights.
· Demonstrate active leadership in promoting a strong safety culture by ensuring that all exploration activities are conducted in accordance with Seabridge’s Health and Safety Policies.
· Provide active leadership by assisting in the supervision of geotechnicians and core cutters and provide mentorship to junior colleagues.
· Align with Seabridge Gold’s vision on Sustainability objectives and Social License
· B.Sc. degree in geology/geoscience from an accredited university, M.Sc. degree in a related field is an asset.
· Eligibility to work in Canada at least until December 2026.
· Eligible for Professional Registration and/or Geoscientist in Training (GIT) status in a Canadian jurisdiction.
· 5+ years previous experience in core logging and drill management within an exploration role and a firm understanding of core processing workflows, including oriented drill core.
· 5 + years of porphyry or epithermal specific exploration logging experience and demonstrated understanding of porphyry system deposit models including geochemistry.
· Overall understanding of exploration methodology (grassroots exploration to advanced exploration), with experience in remote environments considered an asset.
· Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and tablet-based data capture; GIS software; experience with Leapfrog Geo, ioGAS, and acQuire would be an asset.
· Demonstrable ability to operate with a high degree of flexibility with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing, fast-paced work environment and re-prioritize tasks as directed by exploration program needs.
· Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
· Ability to work in challenging physical environments in all weather conditions with physical ability required for working in mountainous terrain.
· Physical fitness and the ability to safely lift and carry core boxes and other objects up to 50lbs.
· Ability to work and live in a remote camp setting for extended periods.
· Availability to continue field work into the Fall as required by exploration program needs.
