IES retail is looking for a full-time line cook to support our Uptown Texaco Kitchen and Food Mart. Desired competencies include proven cooking skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Our ideal candidate is collaborative, self- motivated, dependable, able to work effectively and safely in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining 100% total customer focus. Prior relevant experience in a kitchen setting is preferred.

Essential Functions:

- Provides exceptional customer service including but not limited to, a pleasant greeting, smiling, making eye contact, soliciting additional sales, processing the transaction accurately, thanking the customer and inviting them to return. Provides top quality customer service to every customer.

- Preps and sets workstation with food products and equipment and keeps station sanitary and clean throughout the shift.

- Prepares and cooks food for service by cutting, chopping, mixing, preparing and grilling ingredients.

- Prepares, processes, and fulfills orders for made to order food.

- Follows recipes to portion control, presentation and specifications set by kitchen and station guidelines.

- Manages the process of ordering food supplies on a weekly basis.

- Performs inventory checks, maintains inventory as needed and completes food storage logs.

- Ensure food products are date labeled, covered, stored, and rotated on a first in, first out basis.

- Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.

- Monitor operation of equipment and notify Station Manager when malfunctions occur.

- Perform routine cleaning while maintaining a safe work environment.

- Open and closes the kitchen properly and follows checklists and prep sheets for kitchen stations. Cleans and maintains kitchen and station practicing good safety, sanitation, and organization.

- Complete other tasks as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

- 1 – 2 years of cooking experience

- Ability to work a flexible work schedule.

- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

- Able to tolerate and withstand hot/cold temperatures working in a kitchen environment and on a cook line for extended periods.

- Able to lift, carry or push items from 0-50lbs.

- Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.

- Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

- TB clearance.

- Food Handling Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or GED.

- 1 year of customer service/cash handling

Salary Range:

$20.00-$23.00 per hour
