Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Mine Exploration Geology Supervisor, you will be part of the Geology Department. You will be working mostly at surface and will be responsible for overseeing core shack activities as well as field work. You may be exposed to underground exploration geology as well. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Perform pre-drilling inspections and stakeout drill hole collars;
- Perform diamond drill inspections and post-drilling inspections;
- Maintain core shack and saw room in proper working conditions;
- Supervise core samplers in their daily tasks;
- Perform downhole survey using various tools;
- Prepare & manages sample dispatches and coordinates shipping with backhaul;
- Prepare & maintain ice pads and accesses when drilling on ice;
- Manage drilling consumables inventory;
- Manage logging consumables inventory;
- Core sawing as necessary.
- Geology Technician certificate or diploma;
- 3 years of experience in a similar role with exposure to supervision;
- Experience working underground is considered an asset;
- Experience working on ice drilling programs is considered an asset;
- Valid Driver’s License;
- Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is considered an asset;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
