The LeadRenewable Fuels Compliance Specialist supports the Fuels Regulatory and Quality group in the tracking and management of the overall businesses’ compliance obligations. This includes the Renewable Volume Obligations (RVO), Renewable Identification Numbers (RIN), and Sulphur/Benzene credits related to various EPA programs and regulations. This role will work closely with other internal Supply & Trading teams to ensure our compliance objectives are satisfied.
- Develop knowledge of the Renewable Fuel Standard and provide internal communication of impactful regulatory changes.
- Assist in tracking of RVO driven by internal teams.
- Communicate monthly RVO to internal stakeholders.
- Assist 3rd party vendors in RIN transfers in the EPA Moderated Transaction System.
- Review Product Transfer Documentation for RIN acceptance approvals.
- Assist in daily and monthly RIN reconciliation.
- Work with external parties to reconcile RIN discrepancies.
- Coordinate RIN transactions between external and internal stakeholders.
- Communicate monthly RINS holdings and trading status.
- Certificate of Analysis benzene and sulfur review and data collection for credits.
- Track and assist 3rd party vendor for purchase of benzene and sulfur credits.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical areas such as engineering, applied science, environmental science, accounting or related fields.
- 8+ years of experience in regulatory compliance or related fields. Prior experience related to the fuel industry preferred.- Experience managing high‑volume, recurring deadlines using tools such as Excel, Smartsheet and experience with other Microsoft office solutions.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Primarily office‑based environment.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (up to 50%).
