Junior Market Data Analyst (Houston, TX)
As a member of our global data operations team, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of market data while gaining invaluable insights into commodities pricing. You will produce and leverage business intelligence to monitor and control data operations, ensuring that we meet our high standards for data services.
Streamline data collection and analyze processes related to commodities making insights easily accessible.
Develop and maintain reference data and metadata, including terminology and valid data values.
Implement data management protocols tailored to the commodities market.
Maintain a comprehensive business glossary documenting essential business rules and quality guidelines related to commodities trading.
Manage the data lifecycle, ensuring data integrity and accuracy within the commodities context.
Identify and resolve issues related to market data, specifically within the commodities sector.
Act as the Data Steward for commodities pricing, sharing knowledge and insights across the organization.
Develop, automate, and manage new data pipelines in to feed multiple CTRMs.
Collaborate with the global Market Data teams to develop strategic solutions and support global operations.
Work closely with our global Risk Management team.
Ad hoc duties that may arise, providing exposure to many aspects of commodities data management.
A degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
Strong listening skills to effectively understand the needs of internal clients.
Good in numerical analysis and ability to understand complex data models.
A flexible mindset with willingness to work across multiple time zones.
Methodical and organized; the ability to create documentation and code.
Self-motivated and eager to develop and maintain reference data and a business glossary specific to commodities for consistency.
Awareness of data management principles bonus to be familiar with Commodities trading and market data.
Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) and workflow management tools (e.g. Apache Airflow) are a plus.
Basic knowledge of Python and SQL are a plus.
An interest in the commodities trading industry is highly desirable.
