The Junior Legal Counsel provides legal support to the organization’s senior legal, executive and management teams, with a focus on contract review and compliance, employment law, and litigation support within a manufacturing environment. This position assists in ensuring that company operations, policies, and documentation comply with internal policies, applicable laws and regulations, while supporting senior legal leadership and coordinating with outside counsel as needed.
- Provide day-to-day legal support for business operations, with a focus on risk mitigation and compliance through contract review, negotiation, and monitoring.
- Assist in reviewing, drafting, and revising commercial agreements, including master supply agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and tax equity documents.
- Support the development and maintenance of standardized contract templates and document control processes.
- Monitor company operations and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide support and guidance on employment law matters, including employee relations documentation, disciplinary actions, terminations, and internal investigations.
- Assist with litigation processes, including document preparation, case organization, and coordination with outside counsel.
- Maintain and organize legal records and contracts in an accurate and accessible manner.
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries, reports, and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel and assist with information gathering and case support.
- Support corporate compliance initiatives, including policy development, updates, and internal communications.
- Complete any other tasks as assigned by management.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- Active license to practice law in the United States (Texas preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a focus on contract review, compliance, and employment law.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, supply, or industrial environment required.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, employment law, and compliance.
- Ability to identify legal risks and provide practical, business-oriented solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
The work environment for the position includes enclosed offices.
The physical demands of the position include sitting at a desk for extended periods of time; ability to speak and hear speech and other sounds; ability to enter text or data via keyboard into a computer.
