Journeyman heavy Duty mechanic

We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. The majority of this work will be at a remote site in Northern BC. Ideally the candidate would be located in Prince George, Fort St James, Dawson Creek, or Grande Prairie. This role is responsible for the mechanical maintenance on vehicles and equipment. A general team player attitude and willingness to help out in any and everything will guarantee success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Inspect and examines vehicle and equipment

§ Service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment and perform other routine maintenance work

§ Keep up to date with industry standards and regulations

§ Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced operators, or apprentice maintenance personnel

§ Troubleshoot to determine cause and effect of mechanical failures

§ Assist in shop/yard maintenance and upkeep

§ Participate and assist in an active HSE culture

Experience and Skills:

§ Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is required; as a journeyman, it is anticipated you will have a basic set of trades tools

§ Experience as an HD Journeyman in a shop environment an asset

§ Heavy equipment technician or operator training is an asset

§ Safe driving skills; driver’s abstract will be requested

§ Physically fit – heavy lifting required

§ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

§ Class 5 driver’s license

§ H2S, First Aid

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$55.00 per hour
