- This will be a Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:00 pm position
- If you have experience in a job shop- turning and milling parts for a living- you are encouraged to apply!
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts.
- Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines
- Read blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) files to determine dimensions and tolerances of the finished workpiece
- Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate measurements and dimensions
- Use hand tools, such as files, and grinders, to smooth and finish workpieces
- Inspect finished workpieces for defects and ensure conformance to specifications
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machinist in a job shop environment preferred
- Proficiency in operating various machining equipment, such as manually operated engine lathes and milling machines.
- Experience in setup and operation of Horizontal Boring Mills preferred
- Experience in setup and operation of Fadal Vertical Machining Centers preferred
- Experience in setup and operation of Haas CNC lathes preferred
-Experience in setup and operation of Haas Vertical Machining Centers preferred
-Must be able to work steady with little supervision
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and CAD files
- Experience with precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers

We use alloy steels, tool steels, aluminum alloys, copper alloys, and several types of plastics. We are not a production facility- single prototypes to part quantities of a dozen pieces or less. This position requires the candidate to already own their own basic machinist tools and hand tools.
