Job Summary
The ITAD/Computer Technician is responsible for testing, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing laptops and other electronic equipment as required, and performing inventory control including Approved Certified Data Destruction (CDD). They may also need to palletize electronic equipment (PCs, laptops, printers, removable disks, monitors etc.), complete commercial invoices, and assist with logistics (carriers, quotes, etc.).
The position
•Test, analyze, diagnose, and repair all existing and incoming laptops, printers, and other electronic devices parts/components to ensure products are fully functional.
•Complete customer paperwork, including commercial invoices
•Contact logistic carriers for pick-ups and obtaining quotes
•Use Forklift/Raymond Reach to pick customer orders, and palletize them
•Perform data sanitization and factory resets.
•Change RAM (install physical component)
•Change out hardware for the devices (physical component).
•Install new memory upgrades
•Inspect parts ensuring quality compliance
•Lifting and moving up to 20 lbs. regularly
•Diagnose and troubleshoot product faults, and adjust, replace, or repair
•Install, remove operating systems on devices
•Evaluate the operation of electronic components using the software provided.
Your Qualifications & Abilities:
•Preference is a computer programming diploma or degree
•Experience with laptops, desktops, and iPads/tablets
•Forklift or Raymond Reach license
•Experience communicating with customers and completing commercial invoices preferred
•Logistics experience preferred - such as contacting carriers for pick up and obtaining quotes
•Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
•Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
•Experience in repairing wireless products from cosmetic changes, screens, batteries, internal components, software, flashing and unlocking.
•Experience performing troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair and testing on various mobile products, including Android, iPhones, and iPads.
•Strong technical background in electronics.
