BLOC Resources is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals for an Intern 1 opportunity supporting Power Delivery Distribution operations. This hands-on internship is designed for individuals looking to gain real-world experience in the utility and energy industry.
Interns will work alongside experienced field crews, assisting with construction, maintenance, and operational tasks while learning industry best practices, safety procedures, and foundational technical skills.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, are eager to learn, and want to build a career in the power delivery or skilled trades industry.
- Assist crews with general labor tasks including digging trenches, shoveling, and material handling
- Support installation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems
- Help set up work zones, including placing outriggers, pads, and safety equipment
- Stock trucks with tools, materials, and supplies needed for daily operations
- Learn and safely use hand tools and battery-operated tools
- Assist in building switch assemblies and supporting construction tasks
- Learn proper use of chainsaws with appropriate PPE and safety procedures
- Support ladder setup and safe handling of equipment and materials
- Assist with laying conduit and supporting underground installations
- Carry and handle materials such as guy wire coils and hardware
- Support hoisting and rigging activities using handlines and brackets
- Learn and demonstrate proper knot tying techniques for field applications
- Participate in hands-on training led by experienced crew members
- Learn proper safety protocols, work procedures, and job site expectations
- Gain exposure to power distribution systems and utility field operations
- Demonstrate ability to apply learned skills in real work scenarios
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, digging, climbing, etc.)
- Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures at all times
- Interest in pursuing a career in utilities, construction, or skilled trades
- Previous experience in manual labor, construction, or outdoor work (a plus, not required)
