Overview:
The Intermediate Warehouse Operations Specialist is responsible for providing guidance and project management for inventory, logistics and warehouse services to ensure effective and efficient operations across the PPL Family of companies. This position will support direction and integrated coordination of strategies and processes to affected parties that will result in optimal levels of inventory through procurement and management of purchase materials and logistics. This role will interface with lines of business, project managers, material managers, third party warehouses and logistics companies, site personnel / construction contractors, and may include indirect/matrix supervisory responsibilities.
- Operationalize best practices, strategies, and training to drive a safety mindset across Warehouse Operations.
- Support compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards and proactively seek opportunities.
- Guide and maintain established, consistent processes for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective receiving, storing and distribution of materials and drive the adoption of innovative technology, where feasible.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of inventory, warehouse, and logistics strategies.
- Prepare complex financial models and forecasting using advanced modeling techniques to optimize space and cost efficiency.
- Enable collaboration with other departments, business units, 3PL warehouse, e.g., Engineering, Development, Transmission Project Execution, Supply Chain, etc. to understand challenges and best practices to identify optimization opportunities ensuring effective and efficient materials management and warehouse operations.
- Partner with Engineering / Development / Project Execution / Lines of business to identify requirements and opportunities to eliminate risks / problem areas and implement corrective solutions
- Evaluate process failures and implement Root Cause Analysis.
- Facilitate communications between internal customers and 3PL warehouse personnel.
- Manage agreed upon 3PL performance against established metrics and KPIs and document / communicate any successes and challenges to Sr. Manager.
- Proficiency with ERP, data analysis, delivery date review and inventory best practices and management.
- Provide Logistics support in an emergency preparedness role.

- Complies with all policies and standardsBachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis is required.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory, procurement, or related field.
- Experience in Excel includes ability to develop charts, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to collaborate on and implement effective and efficient inventory and warehouse management strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface with other departments and ensure smooth, efficient operations.
- Proven track record of successfully managing stakeholder relationships to further support advancement of department/company initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Knowledge of inventory and warehouse management software and systems to monitor and analyze performance metrics and ensure accurate inventory records.
- Project leadership experience in inventory and warehouse management.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
- Working knowledge of SAP, Infor, Oracle, SQL and Power BI or other IT / inventory management systems.
