We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative.
The
Inside Sales Representativeposition is responsible for managing relationships with existing customers, identifying and qualifying new opportunities, selecting products for applications, preparing and following up on quotations, entering sales orders, and submitting purchase orders for buy-out items.
- Collaborate with Technical Sales Representatives, Inside Sales team, Engineering, Operations, Accounting, and suppliers to meet customer requirements
- Provide customers with product and application information and support as needed
- Establish and maintain accurate customer and contact records
- Review and qualify quotation opportunities submitted by current and prospective customers
- Select product(s) suitable for customer application, including internally manufactured valves and purchased automation accessories
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers when required
- Gather manufacturing and purchased costs of manual and automated valve assemblies being quoted
- Prepare accurate formal quotations conforming with margin guidelines and with suitable commercial terms
- Communicate quotations to customers; follow up on quotations and respond to customer questions
- Enter Sales Orders for successful quotes
- Enter purchase orders for components of assemblies
- Create internal manufacturing orders for items on Sales Orders
- Continually add to knowledge of products, applications, and customers
- Minimum of two years experience in the industrial valve/valve automation industry, in any combination of customer service, inside sales, technical sales, technical support, field service, and valve repair/automation/warehouse services
- Demonstrable experience customer-service experience (data collection, product selection, quotation preparation and communication) related to industrial products
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Experience using an ERP system to conduct sales, purchasing, and/or customer-management activities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong phone presence
- Detail-oriented, curious and motivated to learn new things
- Independent, proactive and self-motivated person who will offer exceptional service to our customers
- Team-oriented, able to collaborate across functions and responsibility levels to help the organization succeed
