Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Information Security Specialist in Oak Ridge, TN.
An active DOE Q Clearance is required.
We are seeking an experienced Information Security Specialist to support a Department of Energy (DOE) program with a focus on Classified Matter Protection and Control (CMPC) and Technical Security disciplines, including COMSEC, TEMPEST, and Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM)–related activities. This role is critical to ensuring the protection of classified information, systems, and facilities in accordance with DOE orders, federal regulations, and site-specific security requirements.
- Implement, administer, and maintain CMPC programs in compliance with DOE orders, policies, and procedures
- Support technical security programs, including COMSEC, TEMPEST, and other classified information protection measures
- Conduct classified material accountability, control, inventories, and audits
- Develop, review, and maintain security documentation, procedures, and work instructions
- Provide security guidance and subject matter expertise to operations, engineering, and management personnel
- Support inspections, assessments, and audits by DOE and internal oversight organizations
- Investigate, document, and report security incidents, infractions, or vulnerabilities
- Coordinate with counterintelligence, cyber security, physical security, and classification organizations as required
- Assist with training and briefing personnel on CMPC and technical security requirements
- Participate in facility walkdowns and assessments to verify compliance with security controls
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Information Assurance, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrated experience with CMPC programs within a DOE or similar classified environment
- Experience with Technical Security, COMSEC, TEMPEST, or related classified security disciplines
- Prior experience supporting a DOE or NNSA site
- Working knowledge of DOE Orders (e.g., 470 series), NNSA requirements, and federal security regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation
- Professional security certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP, COMSEC certifications)
- COMSEC Custodian or Alternate Custodian experience
- Familiarity with classified information systems and secure facility operations
- Experience supporting startup, commissioning, or operational environments
- United States Citizenship
- Active DOE Q Security Clearance
