Job Summary:
The GBS HR Specialist for North America will play a vital role in partnering with Global Business Services employees in the region and across GBS HR Hubs. They will be responsible for managing HR processes while providing accurate, timely guidance to line managers and employees. This highly collaborative position focuses on enhancing support for GBS leaders by leveraging their HR expertise to drive strategic talent initiatives and ensure seamless execution of HR policies.
Working closely with GBS HRBPs, GBS HR North America Team Leads and colleagues delivering internal HR services, this individual will act as the primary subject matter expert on compensation and benefits. As the "center of excellence" for every stage of the employee lifecycle, they will serve as the first point of contact for staff inquiries, ensuring seamless HR support across the GBS North America organization.
Education and Work Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology or any related field. Equivalent work experience is also acceptable for the position.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
•At least 3-5 years of experience in a Generalist HR position (e.g., merit increases, salary administration, bonus process, compensation, etc.).
•The ideal candidate for this position is expected to be self-motivated, proactive, willing to go beyond the call of duty, helpful and service-oriented, adaptive to change. The candidate must also have problem-solving skills, the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional setting, proven experience working with senior executives, and an ability to remain calm and composed under stress and uncertainty, inspiring the same with their colleagues.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, as this position will interact with individuals at all levels of the organization, both domestically and internationally.
•The candidate must have exceptional computer skills and be proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other recruitment-related / HRIS tools.
•The candidate is expected to have a natural ability to network with others, which will prove to be extremely beneficial in this highly collaborative role.
•Experience with SAP HR / SuccessFactors is a plus.
•Hybrid role (3 days onsite at your Pittsburgh, PA office, 2 days remote).

•HR point of contact – Main resource for employee and manager queries for the GBS North America employees.
•Compensation and benefits support – Salary benchmarking, annual review processes, and policy guidance.
•Job offers and market analysis – Bonus processes, salary assessments, and benefits administration.
•Employee relations – Handling concerns, scheduling, and supporting investigations.
•Onboarding and engagement – Checklist management and workplace culture initiatives.
•HR process guidance – Supporting managers and employees in HR tasks.
•Data accuracy – Maintaining compensation records and job descriptions.
•Compliance and trends – Staying updated on laws and compensation practices.
•HR Reporting – Providing requested data insights.
•Process improvement – Logging, escalating, and implementing HR enhancements, as needed.
•Cross-team support – Assisting other GBS teams as needed.
