We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to oversee all aspects of HR strategy and operations in a standalone, end-to-end role. This is both a hands-on and strategic position, ideal for a professional who is energized by wearing every hat in HR, balancing competing priorities, and thriving in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
- Own the full scope of HR — acting as the sole HR resource for the company.
- Advise leadership on workforce planning, compliance, and organizational development while also managing the daily transactional details.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws across Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico.
- Lead high-volume, full-cycle recruiting for field roles with tight turnaround times.
- Build and maintain pipelines to continuously meet staffing needs in a competitive market.
- Serve as the point of contact for candidates from first touch to offer, ensuring an efficient process in a lean recruiting environment.
- Manage all aspects of offer letters, pre-employment screenings, and start date coordination.
- Independently administer payroll for all employees using ADP WorkforceNow and Spectrum.
- Handle wage & hour compliance, overtime, garnishments, and final pay.
- Maintain HRIS and reporting.
- Oversee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, retirement, ancillary) and serve as the sole administrator.
- Manage open enrollment, benefit changes, terminations, and COBRA compliance.
- Execute all steps of onboarding, including background checks, I-9 verification, orientation, and training.
- Manage the full offboarding process, from final pay to exit documentation.
- Respond to legal correspondence, unemployment claims, subpoenas, and employee inquiries directly.
- Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures while navigating periods of organizational transition.
- Serve as the go-to for employee relations, handling issues independently and with confidentiality.- 8–10+ years progressive HR leadership experience, ideally within oil & gas, energy services, or industrial sectors.
- Expertise in high-volume recruiting alongside payroll and compliance administration.
- Strong working knowledge of ADP WorkforceNow and Spectrum.
- Experience handling garnishments, unemployment claims, and legal documentation.
