HSE Manager

The HSE Manager is responsible for planning, establishing, implementing and maintaining a variety of health, safety, and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safe and healthy working conditions to include safe guarding the environment. This will be done by mentoring and coaching employee’s in safety, health, and environmental (HSE) requirements, and the enforcement of such policies. This position is a hands-on, field position and will work closely with Human Resources and the Operations Team on the overall management of the company’s performance of achieving an injury and incident free work environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•Training and education are core tools for an accident free work environment. Must be willing to continue training to further develop your understanding of the principals of occupational safety and health policies, environmental protection, and Department of Transportation rules and regulations, to include other certifications as may be required.
•Work with Operational Mangers to ensure that all facilities’ employees comply with HSE-related federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and codes, to include overseeing the management of waste streams.
•Coordinate, conduct, and assist with HSE-related training for new and existing employees, as needed, to include weekly safety meetings and required annual training.
•Implementation of safety, environmental, and other HSE-related procedures, programs, and policies to include SPCC and SWPPP.
•Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in Company’s work-sites, conducts and coordinates on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices, and provide advice and counseling to management and staff regarding HSE compliance efforts.
•Track and monitor HSE-related training to ensure compliance with all applicable legal and Company requirements.
•Assist with compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental requirements, including conducting research to assess applicable legal requirements and obtaining necessary permits from federal, state, and local entities.
•Compile, analyze, investigate, and report incidents and injuries involving company employees and/or assets to assess root cause and make recommendations regarding incident and injury prevention, as necessary.
•Assist operational counterparts with managing company’s return to work/medical program.
•Train and supervise geographically dispersed HSE team.
•Travel to field locations to promote a “safety first” work environment.
•Conduct special projects as assigned and needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant health and safety-related field is a plus or equivalent combination of training and related experience.
•At least five (5) years of relevant experience in safety, environmental, and health management and compliance is essential.
•Relevant experience in managing a geographically disbursed HSE team.
•Current certification in First Aid and CPR is required. (May be obtained upon employment).
•Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook and ability to conduct required internet-related research.
•Ability to manage multiple deadline-driven priorities and workflow.
•Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
•Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
•Oil & gas experience preferred.
•Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
