Key Responsibilities:
•Assist in the implementation and enforcement of HSE policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
•Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
•Support incident investigations, document findings, and track follow-up actions to prevent recurrence.
•Coordinate safety training programs and maintain training records for employees and contractors.
•Promote a culture of safety through employee engagement, safety communications, and awareness initiatives.
•Maintain and update safety records, reports, and metrics in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements.
•Assist with the development and review of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Safe Work Practices, and Emergency Response Plans.
•Participate in internal and external audits, including preparation and response to findings.
•Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) use and support equipment inspections and reporting.
•Collaborate with supervisors and managers to ensure safe work practices are implemented across operations.
•Other tasks as assigned, to include but not limited to coordinating and maintaining all regularly scheduled preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
Qualifications:
•Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
•2+ years of experience in a safety or HSE-related role, preferably in manufacturing, metals, or industrial environments.
•Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other health and safety regulations.
•Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with safety management systems is a plus.
•Ability to conduct training and influence teams at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required):
•OSHA 30-Hour General Industry
•First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
