Job Title: Mobile Equipment Mechanic Reports To: Plant Superintendent
Position Summary: Responsible for hands-on maintenance and repairs of all mobile equipment for the mine as well as assisting with maintenance and repairs of fixed plant equipment.
· Always work safely and maintain mobile equipment in safe operating condition.
· Perform inspections and PM’s on mobile equipment to find existing issues with equipment and prevent failures whenever possible.
· Troubleshoot and repair any issues with mobile equipment and return equipment back to OEM-spec operation.
· Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools in an organized fashion. Order any spares or tools needed with the approval of the Plan Superintendent.
· Communicate with the OEM dealers as needed for technical support, or to coordinate contractor repairs when necessary.
· Keep records of work done to equipment and work needing to be done.
· Review pre-shift inspections for operator discovered issues.
· Communicate with operators on any work done or to assist with troubleshooting.
· Maintain necessary records for plant compliance with government agencies including MSHA, and environmental agencies.
· Maintain records for proper maintenance documentation and history.
· Assist with any plant equipment repairs as needed.
· Keep workplace, parts storage, and other areas of plant in good order with good housekeeping practices.
· Ensure all daily shift documents are completed as required per policy.
· All safety and PPE products will be provided as needed and are to be utilized in the work areas when required.
· 5 years of experience in mobile equipment/diesel equipment maintenance.
· Experience around a manufacturing or mining environment is a plus.
· Must be highly organized, self-motivated with a can-do attitude and the ability to work independently.
· Must be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and easily adapt to changing situations.

This job will be outside most of the time. While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions (wet, hot, cold, dusty, windy, dry, etc). The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the plant environment is usually moderate to high.
