Heavy equipment Field Service Mechanic

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge and experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment and machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of both diesel engines and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to work with various tools and equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.

- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance.

- Utilize schematics and OEM specifications to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.

- Repair or replace components such as transmissions, air brakes, suspensions, and HVAC systems.

- Execute welding and fabrication tasks as needed for equipment repair or modification.

- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed for customer service purposes.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards.

- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.

Requirements

- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive diagnostics.

- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for repair tasks.

- Experience with electrical systems, including soldering and troubleshooting electrical components.

- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, brake repair, alignment procedures, and tire service techniques.

- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical labor as required by the job.

- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing mechanical issues.

- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 80 per week
