Heavy Equipment / Machinery Field Mechanic

Job description:

We are seeking a skilled Field Mechanic to join our team at our main yard in Whitsett, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on fleet vehicles and various types of heavy equipment such as forklift, manlift, trailers, generators, etc. The Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Must pass drug and alcohol testing and have a clean driving record.

Duties

- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance.

- Perform brake repairs and other essential automotive diagnostics.

- Troubleshoot and repair various mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles and equipment.

- Assemble and disassemble components as needed for repairs.

- Work with hydraulics systems for equipment repair.

- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs.

Skills

- Proficient in brake repair and general vehicle maintenance practices.

- Strong automotive diagnostics skills to identify issues accurately.

- Experience with soldering for electrical repairs is a plus.

- Familiarity with dealership standards and practices is desirable.

- Knowledge of hydraulics systems relevant to equipment repair.

- Ability to work on tractor-trailer systems is an advantage.

- Excellent customer service skills to enhance client satisfaction.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
