Heavy Duty Mechanic

Western Explosives is current looking to hire an experienced HD Mechanic for Local Shop and in field maintenance.

Here at Western Explosives we support our quarry operation and also supply the mining industry with Drilling & Blasting services and products needed to get their jobs done with a bang!

We maintain our own fleet of HD and Commercial Equipment at our 10,000 ft2 shop on Vedder Mtn in Cultus lake.

Required qualifications / experience:

- At least 3 years experience on medium duty transport equipment / mining equipment

- A formal trade qualification will be an advantage

- Experience with CAT ET Software

- Major component replacement and repair/rebuild

- Valid Drivers License

Successful candidates should have the following skillset:

- Excellent problem solving / troubleshooting ability

- Ability to interpret electrical/hydraulic schematics

- Able to work effectively without permanent supervision

- Ability to maintain a safe and clean worksite

- Strong work ethic

- Respect for safe working practices

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Properly fill out daily reports into our Maintenance Software

While Western Explosives has all the usual suspects in the heavy equipment world, we also have a fleet of Track Drills, as a result candidates who have experience working on Drilling equipment will have an advantage.

Pay: $44.00-$48.00 per hour
