Badger Daylighting Calgary has operated since 1997. We have grown the business every year and operator over 60 pieces of equipment. We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repairs and maintenance of heavy machinery. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently.
This position offers flexible work hours and the potential for lots of hours. Evening hours available if beneficial for the candidate but not required. Ability to work on Saturday or Sunday is important.
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy equipment, including cranes and other industrial machinery.
- Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to understand equipment specifications and repair procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on various types of heavy machinery.
- Conduct repairs on hydrovacs and other equipment such as vac trucks, water trucks, stone slingers and dump trucks.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used for each job.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required during the repair process.- Licensed heavy duty mechanic preferred with 3+ years experience. - Proven 3+ years experience as a mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment or automotive/commercial truck repair background required. - Ability to work 50+ hours per week. However, we have significant opportunity for additional hours and pay overtime.
- Proficient in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment related to heavy machinery repairs.
- Understanding of schematics and technical documentation for troubleshooting purposes.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems an asset.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as needed in the course of repairs.
- A valid driver's license may be required depending on job location and responsibilities. A class 3 or class 1 license preferred but not mandatory.
