As we continue to expand our service fleet and operations, we are seeking a skilled Rig Mechanic with real-world mechanical experience in the drilling industry to support our field team.
We are looking for an experienced Rig Mechanic to perform hands-on maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on client's drill rigs and support equipment. This role is heavily field-based and requires someone who understands the unique demands of drilling.
This is not an entry-level position, we are seeking a mechanic who knows the difference between complex mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues that drillers can face with their drilling equipment.
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on water well, sonic and geothermal drilling rigs.
- Air systems: 900/350s, boosters, rotary screw compressors
- Diesel engines (CAT, Cummins, Detroit)
- Hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, and controls
- Conduct scheduled services and preventative maintenance
- Support clients in troubleshooting real-time breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate service logs, parts usage, and field repair notes.
- Work safely in MSHA-regulated mine environments.
- Assist clients new rig start ups and on-going training as requested
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, clients, and parts/purchasing personnel.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement.- 5+ years experience as a heavy-duty mechanic, rig mechanic, or drill mechanic.
- Proven experience working on conventional rotary for water well and geothermal applications and sonic drill rigs.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with diesel engines and air compressors common to drilling.
- Ability to fabricate, weld, and perform field-fit repairs is an asset.
- MSHA 5000-23 (or willingness to obtain before deployment).
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is an asset).
- Ability to work on remote sites and travel is required.- Competitive hourly wage + overtime
