Incumbent serves as Master Mechanic for Maintenance Department, responsible for maintaining Wastewater plant and equipment.
· Maintains department equipment, including performing preventative maintenance and repair, diagnosing issues, and performing major repairs, on all mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment as needed.
· Ensures appropriate use of department equipment, including observing and instructing plant personnel and safe and proper use of equipment.
· Operates a variety of hand and/or power tools in performance of duties, including, but not limited to, hammer, screwdriver, wrench, drill, power saw, air nozzle, ratchet, mop, gauge, tool, and other tools as needed.
· Operates a variety of equipment in performance of duties, including, but not limited to, pallet jack, fork lift, grinder, drill press, cutting torch, and other equipment as needed.
· Installs new equipment and monitors, ensuring proper integration and function.
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in maintenance
- Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of department safety policies and procedures, including OSHA guidelines.
- Practical knowledge of wastewater plant operations and maintenance with ability to monitor wastewater plant areas and ensure proper operation and function of all equipment.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand and/or power tools and equipment as needed.
- Ability to read/interpret detailed specifications in the form of blueprints or manuals
- Ability to occasionally work extended hours, evenings, and weekends as well as respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
