Senior Solid Waste Engineer

A respected engineering and environmental consultancy is hiring a Senior Solid Waste Engineer to lead landfill, stormwater, wastewater, and site development projects for industrial and municipal clients. This role offers the chance to take ownership of complex projects while mentoring staff, working with clients, and shaping innovative waste management solutions.

What You’ll Do

- Manage and deliver projects involving landfill design and construction, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, site development, permitting, and remediation.

- Lead project planning, scheduling, and budget management.

- Provide technical expertise, mentorship, and oversight to junior engineers.

- Prepare technical reports, engineering designs, and regulatory submissions.

- Coordinate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders throughout project delivery.

- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

- Travel as needed for site inspections and client meetings.

What We’re Looking For

- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering.

- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

- 5–10 years of experience in solid waste or environmental engineering.

- Project management experience in landfill, site development, or related projects.

- Strong technical writing, communication, and time management skills.

- Proficiency with design and modeling tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS).

- Ability to work independently while leading and mentoring staff.
