As our Waste Management Supervisor , you’ll be the go-to leader for keeping our operations clean, compliant, and environmentally responsible. From overseeing hazardous and non-hazardous materials to guiding a skilled team through audits, inspections, and emergency responses, you’ll be at the center of ensuring that waste is handled safely, smartly, and sustainably. What You Will Do:
You’ll supervise daily waste management operations, ensuring proper treatment, storage, recycling, and disposal of materials while keeping everything aligned with NRC, RCRA, and environmental regulations. You’ll lead a team, train staff, and coordinate schedules to keep work flowing smoothly. You’ll inspect facilities, audit compliance, respond to environmental emergencies, and maintain meticulous records. You’ll also collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and regulators while driving safe, efficient, and compliant waste-handling practices—all while helping Centrus stay a step ahead of evolving environmental standards.
We’d Love to Hear From People With:
- An associate degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) - 1+ years of leadership experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or related roles
- Hands-on experience with environmental sampling, hazardous materials handling, or waste regulations
- The ability to balance fieldwork in all weather conditions with office-based reporting and oversight
The ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” clearance.
- A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
- Broader supervisory experience in waste management, environmental programs, or industrial operations
- Knowledge of NRC, RCRA, OSHA, and Clean Air/Water Act regulations
- Experience managing subcontractors and cross-functional teams
- Technical expertise with waste tracking systems, environmental monitoring tools, and compliance reporting
- A passion for keeping operations efficient while making a positive environmental impact
An active “Q” clearance

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
