Recycling & Waste Services Coordinator

Outreach Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The candidate selected for this assignment will be responsible for assisting with California-mandated Waste compliance initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Provides logistical account support to help determine if customers are meeting waste diversion goals and identifies business training needs

- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports for non-compliant accounts

- Evaluate waste streams to identify opportunities to increase waste diversion and/or services.

- Coordinates recycling programs for achievement of waste diversion goals.

- Maintain waste diversion reporting for Municipal contract compliance.

- Conducts off site business visits to perform waste audits, inspections and surveys on commercial, multi-family and residential accounts.

- Prepare real time data entry into excel spreadsheet and other databases.

- Conduct or assist in conducting preliminary surveys and preparing audit programs.

- Assists in preforming various audits assignments or special audit projects.

- Submit formal written reports as requested on the results of assigned audits and special projects

- Auditing and collecting raw data for municipal contract compliance.

- Contacting customers by phone, email and in person.

- Educate Customers on recycling state regulations

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

- Knowledge of the Waste Industry is preferred, but not required.

- Proficient with Excel, Word, Google Sheets, Email

- Speaking or customer interaction experience

PHYSICAL:

- Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day

- Manual dexterity and vision sufficient to operate a personal computer for long periods of time without experiencing abnormal hand, wrist or eye strain.

- Hearing sufficient to understand conversations, both in person and on the telephone.
