Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Horticulturist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants and a strong understanding of horticultural practices. This role involves working in various environments, including farms, greenhouses, and landscaped areas, to promote healthy plant growth and maintain beautiful outdoor spaces. The Horticulturist will play a key role in the cultivation, care, and management of plants while ensuring sustainable practices are followed.

Responsibilities

•

Develop and implement effective growing strategies for various plant species.

•

Oversee greenhouse operations, including planting, watering, fertilizing, and pest management.

•

Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and weeding to ensure aesthetically pleasing grounds.

•

Utilize power tools and equipment safely for garden maintenance and landscaping projects.

•

Plan and execute irrigation systems to optimize water usage for plant health.

•

Monitor plant health regularly and diagnose issues related to pests or diseases.

•

Collaborate with landscape designers to create functional and attractive outdoor spaces.

•

Maintain accurate records of plant care activities, growth patterns, and environmental conditions.

Qualifications

•

Proven experience in horticulture or a related field is preferred.

•

Strong knowledge of plant biology, soil science, and pest management techniques.

•

Familiarity with farm operations, greenhouse management, lawn care practices, and landscape maintenance.

•

Ability to operate power tools and gardening equipment safely and effectively.

•

Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in maintaining plant health.

•

Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and clients.

•

A degree or certification in horticulture or a related field is a plus but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
