Title: Plant Manager

Key Project Requirements:
•10+ years of progressive leadership experience in power generation, with strong preference for combined-cycle or gas-fired facilities.
•Proven ability to manage plant operations, staff development, and maintenance programs while ensuring safety and environmental compliance
•Experience developing and executing plant-level strategies, budgets, and procurement plans.
•Strong stakeholder management skills, including interfacing with utility owners, regulators, contractors, and internal leadership.
Job Summary:
PIC Group has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Manager to oversee operations at a combined-cycle generating station in Texas. Reporting to the Director of Business & Operations, the Plant Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of the facility. This leadership role includes oversight of personnel, environmental compliance, policy administration, purchasing, and execution of the gas plant’s strategic goals within a dynamic financial environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations while promoting a strong safety culture.
•Lead, coach, and develop plant staff to foster a high-performing and accountable workforce.
•Manage day-to-day plant operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and contractor oversight.
•Develop and implement operational strategies that align with company goals and financial targets.
•Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, innovation, and use of best practices.
•Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including owners, regulatory agencies, and vendors.
•Administer procurement of materials and services; manage external service providers to ensure scope, quality, and cost objectives are met.
•Support the development and execution of policies, procedures, and technical standards.
•Ensure proper staffing, employee training, and succession planning across all departments.
•Maintain clear communication with executive leadership through regular reporting on plant performance, risk, and compliance.
•Represent the plant in meetings with regulatory bodies, industry groups, and local stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
•Proven leadership experience in power generation plant operations, preferably in combined-cycle or gas-fired facilities.
•In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, labor relations, and safety compliance standards
•Demonstrated success in managing teams, budgets, and plant operations in a fast-paced environment.
•Strong analytical, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of engaging with executives, regulators, and community representatives.
•Proficient in using modern technologies and applying cost-effective operational strategies.
Physical Requirements:
•Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
•May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals
•Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities
Education / Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required; MBA preferred.
•10+ years of relevant experience in power generation with a degree, or 14+ years without a degree.
•Prior experience managing a combined-cycle or gas turbine facility is strongly preferred.
