We are seeking energetic and dedicated Furnace Operators. Owl’s Head Alloys is a 100% Employee-Owned (ESOP) offering competitive pay and full benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401 k and 401 k match. No cost for employee and dependents medical, dental and vision. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts. Vacation after 90 days.
12 hour shifts, 4 days on and 4 days off. 7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM.
Following standard work instructions, safely and efficiently, each furnace worker shall:
· Follow all safety rules and procedures and wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
· Follow all environmental policies and procedures including reporting incidents/nonconformities when they occur.
· Operate all equipment safely and efficiently according to all plant policies and procedures.
· Report any unsafe or unhealthful workplace conditions or hazards.
· Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all company safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with co-workers and managers.
· Operate the furnace in accordance with EPA regulations including monitoring of operating rate, lime injection rates, baghouse inlet temperatures, and flux injection rates.
· Drain, pour, or remove molten metal from furnaces, and place it into molds.
· Observe and direct production workers to ensure that the production needs are met.
· Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
· Record production data as well as maintain the production logs.
· Weigh materials to be charged into furnaces using the scales.
· Operate and adjust the controls to maintain the required temperatures and pour or discharge molten metals from the furnace(s).
· Observe and ensure the sample and sow quality meets company’s standards.
· Work as part of the team to achieve company goals.
· Contribute to process improvement initiatives and implements best practices.
· Perform all other related work as assigned.
