Equipment Operator/Labourer

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating a compact excavator and a strong understanding of construction processes. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of equipment on-site, contributing to the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities

- Operate equipment including compact excavators, safely and efficiently.

- Conduct routine maintenance checks and perform minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.

- Preform site preparations. Dig trenches, backfill holes, and prepare sites for construction.

- Collaborate with team members to execute construction tasks effectively while adhering to safety protocols.

- Assist in horizontal drilling operations as required, ensuring precision and accuracy.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is stored properly after use.

- Follow project plans and specifications to complete tasks within designated timelines.

- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other crew members regarding project progress and any issues that arise.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in equipment operation with a focus on compact excavators.

- Safety awareness: Strong understanding of safety procedures, risk assessment, and the proper handling of potentially hazardous equipment.

- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment.

- Valid commercial driving license preferred; ability to operate vehicles as necessary for job duties.

- Problem solving: Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and resolve operational issues.

- Familiarity with construction practices and safety regulations in the industry.

- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.

- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
