We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic/Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a fleet of oil tucks and service vans. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of hands-on experience working with diesel engines and heavy trucks and demonstrates strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel system issues
- Inspect, test, and adjust components to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot problems accurately
- Complete work orders and documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Perform equipment reconditioning, including mechanical and general appearance repairs
- Provide accurate labor and repair time estimates when needed
- Communicate mechanical findings clearly to supervisors or service advisors
- Stay current with evolving diesel and automotive technology through ongoing training
Fleet Mechanic Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma or GED required; Technical degree or certification preferred
- 2–4 years of experience inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel trucks
- Experience working with heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment
- ASE certification preferred
- Class A or B CDL (preferred)
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics and diagnostic systems
- Proficient with shop equipment (diagnostic tools, tire equipment, alignment systems, A/C equipment, etc.)
- Ability to lift heavy components and perform physically demanding tasks
- Must have own set of basic mechanic tools
- Team-oriented, dependable, and committed to safety and quality workmanship
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality repairs
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- A safety-first mindset
- Inspection Station License preferred
- Desire to grow technically and stay current in the field
