Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Fleet Manager to oversee our company’s vehicles, equipment, and material logistics. This position is vital to the smooth operation of our roofing projects, ensuring timely delivery of materials, maintaining vehicle and equipment readiness, and supporting field crews with the resources they need. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in fleet or logistics management, preferably in the construction or roofing industry, and a strong understanding of equipment maintenance and inventory control.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Fleet Management & Maintenance
•Manage day-to-day operations of the company’s vehicle fleet, including trucks and trailers.
•Schedule and track regular vehicle maintenance to ensure reliability and regulatory compliance.
•Monitor vehicle usage and optimize routes and assignments to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
2. Equipment & Material Logistics
•Coordinate timely delivery of roofing materials and tools to job sites based on project schedules.
•Ensure accurate loading of materials, preventing project delays due to missing or incorrect supplies.
•Maintain inventory levels and track usage to ensure availability of critical equipment and materials.
3. Support for Roofing Crews
•Work closely with project managers to understand job site needs and proactively deliver necessary supplies.
•Respond quickly to on-site material requests or equipment issues during ongoing projects.
•Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely fulfillment of material orders.
4. Safety & Compliance
•Ensure all vehicles and equipment are safe, maintained, and compliant with industry standards and local laws.
•Keep records of vehicle registrations, insurance, permits, and ensure renewals are up to date.
•Provide operational and safety training for drivers and crew members on vehicle and equipment handling.
5. Record Keeping & Reporting
•Track all deliveries, shipments, and equipment usage accurately and consistently.
•Generate regular fleet and inventory reports to assess performance and identify improvements.
•Review and update maintenance logs, inventory databases, and delivery records.
Qualifications:
•2+ years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field (construction/roofing experience a plus).
•Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
•Proficient in route planning, scheduling, and inventory systems.
•Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across teams and vendors.
•Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
•Ability to lift and move materials/equipment as needed for loading/unloading.
